At the core of every project must be a rigorous focus on client satisfaction. This is achieved by building collaborative relationships, focusing on professional management, and delivering the highest level of quality; all of which, when added together, results in a successful project.
This enduring commitment to quality has resulted in the following awards and recognition I have received from my peers and business partners over the past few years.
I started compiling my list of Testimonials during my first year at Gap Inc., as my manager at the time encouraged me to keep all positive feedback from our business partners and provide it during my end of the year review. Due to privacy, all names have been replaced by initials.
Gap Inc.'s Words to Live By Annual Awards are given each year to just 7 of Gap Inc.'s 165,000 employees who show outstanding achievement in key areas of its business. Awards are given to those who follow and apply the Company's "Words to Live By" mantras - which are 7 key phrases and philosophies that define what's important at Gap Inc., and what the Company believes in. Within my second year of working at Gap Inc., I received nominations and awards in the following categories:
Take the Smart Risk (2002 Award Winner)
- Challenges the status quo and champions a cause.
- Generates new ideas, trusts their instincts, and takes calculated risks.
- Pushes for a better way, even at the risk of failure.
- Uses success and failures as learning opportunities.
- Asks "why"?
Do It Better Every Day (2002 Nomination)
- Provides "customer" service that exceeds the expectations of internal and external business partners.
- Continually raises the bar in providing outstanding service to internal and external customers and business partners.
- Gets feedback from customers and business partners.
- Anticipates and addresses others' concerns before they become problems.
Gap Inc.'s Get Caught program is a way for employees to be easily recognized when demonstrating the "Words to Live By" company mantras. When an employee is viewed demonstrating the Words to Live By, they are eligible to be "caught" for their actions. Gap Inc.'s employees from every level, location and division are able to "catch" and "be caught." I was recognized for the following Words to Live By mantra:

Duane has been an excellent resource for GapInc.com. In addition to assisting with complex HTML and ASP development issues, he shines with troubleshooting tasks. Most recently, I partnered with Duane to resolve a job search production issue. His focused approach paid off huge in a swift resolution.

I received the following kudos from co-workers, business partners, managers, and directors that I worked with while at Gap Inc. I was encourgaged by my manager(s) to compile all my positive feedback to be used during end-of-the-year reviews, but where would be the best place to maintain this growing list? Oh, yes, of course, my website! So here it is...
Duane, first off, I want to compliment you on your outstanding job you've done with the edits for the StoreNet WBT!! It only took me 45 minutes to proof, which is amazing compared to what we went through with our vendor last fall... Thanks again for such a great job!
Duane - Excellent work! Let's keep up the momentum as we go forward to localize the WBT.
Great job Duane! Kasey was really thrilled with the WBT.

Thanks again for having a great attitude about incorporating these changes.
Duane and I discussed for some time this afternoon, and we decided there is a BETTER way in making all the page look consistent (e.g. having the same presentation in terms of format). This will make our tasks so much EASIER in customizing all the pages. Thanks to Duane!
Old Navy was especially pleased about the Online Help. D.P. made a special point to tell Rosie how great he thought it was. They belive that it should be the standard for any static Help for future applications!
Duane - Great job!
The Online Help should be the standard for all applications going forward...it's great!
Just want you to know I really appreciate your time and help!

Duane, Thanks for the detailed status - good stuff!
I just wanted to give you some long overdue praise for the DCM Migration tool that you created to help developers communicate content for migration to the administrator. Speaking from the developer end, this tool has helped me tremendously to identify and categorize content that I need to have migrated. I would assume that the information entered through this tool is also of huge value to Jacqueline, because it makes it a lot easier for her to recognize the different categories of content to be migrated and act accordingly.
Thanks - these look great and appreciate you getting these together with Gap Inc. pecking at your heels!
Duane, You're a SUPERMAN! Thank you so much for completing all this so quickly!

Congratulations DUANE NASON! You've just received a round of Applause from your colleague, D.F., for making our Purpose, Values and Behaviors real.
Here's what D. has to say about your standout performance:
Duane helped actualize changes to the Pay & Benefits tab that impacted both full time and part time employees across the company. He assisted during a time when I know he had a lot on his plate. He took time to review and execute the changes, highlighting his dedication to quality work. Whenever there were issues he was quick to help resolve them and connect with the proper folks to make it right. His work not only cleaned up the cluttered Pay & Benefits tab, but it also resulted in giving our HR business partners more power over their content. Thanks Duane!
Everything seems to be working great. Thanks for all your help!!
Thank you for all of your help.
Thanks again Duane, for a quick, concise response.
